Is it possible?

by sklim, Jun 22, 2009 12:27PM
Is it possible to have a fasting blood sugar reading of 5.7 and an Oral Glucose tolerance Test result two hrs later of 12. 4? Is the one-off OGTT result indicative of Diabetes Type II or do we need to take more readings?

The glucose tolerance test measures the reaction of your blood sugar after you eat. A non-diabetics would never go up that high. I'm a bit confused. You had the test, but your doctor didn't discuss the results with you?? He needs to explain the results, tell you if you are Type I or Type II and educate you as to how to treat your diabetes!
