Lancelets

by Averiguado, Apr 02, 2007 12:00AM
MUST  KNOW !!!

This is in regard to Lancelets used in blood count testing.
As I test myself infrequently,my supply of lancelets are
inclined to pile up. I now have an abundant supply. My question
is; as the lancelets are completely sealed against contamination,
why should there be an expiration date on the product. Are they
afraid of rusting.Aren't they made of stainless steel? Would
appreciate some info on this. Thanks !

My lancets are made by LifeScan, inc for their OneTouch Ultra system and have NO expiration date on the box. The prescription label has no "Discard After:" date either.

Thank you for your response,Waverider. I have the same system but I couldn't get any answers from Lifescan direct. Keep a good count !

You're welcome...glad your question was answered. FYI...I keep my supply in a ziplock bag to prevent dust contamination.
