Need some help please

Hello Dr. I am new at all this..I just found out by my Dr that Im a Diabetic I think...he never said the words...OK heres my question ...My fasting glucose range was 135 << if thats what you call it ..and my 3 month range # <<not sure what it is called was 7.7...I also had a EMG test that came back fine...The reason i went to the Dr in the first place was my feet where hurting me ...needles ...pins ...sharp pain across top of foot ...calfs kinda ach....after my EMG test when i went back ot my Family Dr he said i have Diabetic Neuropathy....that most people dont get Neuropahty until they have had Diabetes for long time...in my case I think i got it first...Dr said it can happen that way ..but not to often....Dr put me on Glumetza 500mg and Lyrica 75mg for nerve pain....i have been on the lyrica for 8 days at the mg and doesnt seem to be helping ...I have a friend on the forum that i chat with and she is taking 450mg of lyrica and it works beautifuly for her...My Husband had a Dr appointment and i have him ask the Dr for a higher dose of Lyrica and he said if it hasnt help me in 8 days it wont work.....but he did give my Husband another bottle of 75mg of lyrica to give to me ...and said to take 2 pill at one time ...he never told me to go on any kinda diet for being a biabetic ...all he said was ...get your blood tested agian on the 21 of Dec and come back to office on the 28 of Dec ...to see if GLumetza is helping your blood sugar...I am so confused....am i a diabetic or not ...and if so what should i be doing ...I am 55 and in good health..i ride horses ...breed Min Schanuzer for hobby..we live on a small 12 acher country home ...can you please give me a second apenion....thanks Judy
