Other causes of IGF-1 elevation?

You mention other causes of IGF-1 elevation. Could you elaborate? My doctor tells me that my IGF-1 is elevated at 68 (normal 14-47). I am going to repeat the test and check my GH during a 100g glucose tolerance test. I am therefore wondering what a raised IGF-1 value can suggest if the OGTT is normal?

What is Elevated IGF-1? I have been a diabetic since '96 and I am not familiar with this.

I am following a client with NIDDM, who has significantly elevated IGF1 levels. BUT his GH is suppressible and is 0. 3ng/ml baseline.
IGF1 levels are 300+ng/ml (75-<228 ).
What else could give IGF1 elevation.  I don't know whether he is taking IGF1 (I just notice on these sight s that it can be purchased on line.)I will enquire specificall as to supplements.
