Stopped taking my insulin

by GoldDontRust, Aug 24, 2008 02:06PM
Hi, I am 48 year old female, my weight is 16 stone. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 5 years ago, I was taking metformin for 4 years and have been on Insulin for the last 12 months.
I have bipolar disorder and am in a very low mood for the last 3 weeks, I stopped taking my metformin and insulin 3 weeks ago and my blood glucose levels are 180 in the mornings and around 347 during the day.
Is that level anything I should be concerned with, I have not seen my doctor for a while because when i am low mood i cannot motivate myself into doing anything.

HI,
Those blood sugar levels are too high and definitely need medical treatment.  Please contact your doctor as soon as possible to restart your medications safely.
Take care.
