The "pens" are all nice, but if you can, I believe the injectable syringes are the best way to go. Properly done, the injects are painless, and you can more easily titrate a dose of insulin to meet dietary variation.

Victoza isn't insulin. It's a new injectable medication for Type 2's and sorry, camaro, but I don't know anything else about it!

Btw I use insulin pens and find them very convenient. I have no problem adjusting dosage for my I:C ratio, though I can't do less than one unit. Just a personal preference I guess.

Victoza is a VERY new drug, just approved in January, so you might not find too many people with experience with it. You might try posting on a website with more traffic or else just ask your doctor to explain his thinking in switching meds for you. Were you having good blood sugars previously? If so, stick with what works. If not, then ask him how long before you can start seeing results from the Victoza and test and let him know the results.

Victoza is made by Novo Nordisk, makers of Novolin Insulin. Victoza is the brand name approved in Europe for Liraglutide. Once daily Victoza, is the first human Glucagon-Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Victoza works by stimulating the release of insulin only when blood sugar levels are high.

You can find research results on Victoza by using the search words "Liraglutide clinical trials result" (without quotes).

I have been on this drug now for 16 months (15 months on the clinical trIal) injecting myself daily.
I have only ever done an air shot to the mark as told before injecting my self.  I have never got 10 shots out of 1 pen when injecting my self.
Now that I am  under my doctor  and have been told the price of it which has made me very aware of how many shots I should be getting unlike stated in the instructions no way can I get 10 shots still.
Please could you look into this for me and tell me what I am doing wrong if anything. I must say this drug is working very well for me and would hate to be taken off of it because of price.
Thank you

Thank you
