Wondering about Lab Results///& Synthroid I'm taking

by Jpet, Apr 11, 2007 12:00AM
I have been on .88 on Synthroid for several yrs. My Dr. started me on this because at that point I was "borderline"-labs, but I was very, very tired, overweight & he said he sometimes gave women a low dose of Synthyroid when they had borderline labs as I did- - I immediately the first wk. of starting - felt some better... Well, I've been taking the same dose probably 5 yrs or so - blood wk. always normal.. This last blood work, N.Pract. said was on the Low side of Normal & since I feel bad, & have been on the same dose so long - she thought I could up the dose to 100 mcg.  (I am going to someone different now) What do you think? I know messing with Sythroid might not be safe if I don't need it.  I am much overweigh & can't seem to get enough to eat.
My labs were - TSH-0.450   T4-6.8  T3-2.4  According to the chart, they were all on the low side of normal.
PS how do I know someone has replied to this post??

Jpet,

You should go to the thyroid forum & post as there is an endocrinologist who would be glad to answer your questions.

I am moving to Scotland and want to know if Synthroid is available in that country.
