I am a diabetic and for the past few month yeast infection has been a major problem for me. I start to feel embarassed....i've been taking canesteen for it......i am a little frustrated what can i do?

Hi BG is very helpful to growing yeast, getting your BG down into the normal range (under 120) will help reduce yeast infections.

In addition to controlling blood sugars very well (80-120 range), you may find that strictly limiting sugars in your diet (these come from fruits, starchy vegetables, grains) and adopting a low carb diet, may be very beneficial - also this will help you control your blood sugars.

Plenty of non-starchy veges (ie. everything but corn, potato and sweet potato).

Please exercise daily as this will also help your blood sugar.

You can wash with diluted vinegar, to also help.

You may need to ask your Dr about oral meds for yeast (diflucan) if these other measures do not help.

is this a common side affect? im unaware of this one...but my mouth is consistantl sore......yeast infection?

Sounds like u need to work on lowering your b.sugars. Diflucan is a one time pill that is wonderful. Any time i get a yeast infection i call the doc for a prescription. Gl
