How long can a diabetic 2 fast?

Hello,

there is no problem for fasting for a type 2 diabetic, as long as that person is not on insulin.

How long fasting are you talking about.  Overnight, no problem.

If it longer than about 12 hours, I assume you can take water.

please give more information so we can give a better response.

Oh, a 40 day fast for religious reasons?

That would mean nothing but water?  Or modified?

40 days without eating may be a concern (you could die), and although some belief systems do use routine fasting, it is not typical to do so for such a long period.
