lowering a high reading

what to do if I have a high (268) reading two hours after dinner in the evening. Is there something I can take to quickly lower the reading? Please help.

Hi,
The high reading is likely due to a combination of what you ate(carbohydrate load, sweet drinks etc) as well as your medication not quite covering it.
You can cut back on your carb load to see what happens. But you can also have your medications adjusted or changed entirely to prevent that big rise. The change ofcourse will depend on what you are currently taking.
Non-medication suggestions: Drinking water does help, so in the meantime you should also do that. For some, going for a walk also helps bring their sugar down.
Take care.

First of all what did u eat for dinner the foods and how much? If u are eating starchy food, potatoes and white rice or noodles that cancause your BS to go high. Do u take med's for diabetes? Try drinking a couple glasses of water. there isn't a food u can eat or a herbal pill to cause magic to lower it fast. Its alll about your diet I am beting... I hope u get it down...and feel better and don't stress, stress makes it go up to. And also what di  u drink for dinner, soda are high in sugar so is sugary tea and juices also...
