pre-diabetic?

pre-diabetic?

hello. i had a fasting glucose test done a year ago and it was 103, but dr. didn't mention it at all.
i just had another done a month ago, wasn't fasting, and it was 113.
should i be concerned? my grandmother was a diabetic.
should i watch my sugar intake? i admit i have a sweet tooth.
i walk daily etc, should i increase excercise as well?
thank you.

I'm not a doctor but have asked the question in the past 3 years to many doctors, "When do doctors get concerned about fasting glucose level?" I have repeatedly heard 120. At 113 I would be concerned that you could be classified a "borderline" diabetic, so now is the time to watch your diet and partake in moderate exercise. Once you go over to no mans land there is no return.
