It happens to anyone regardless of weight. I'm overweight and almost always have been, but I passed my test with the first try.

I have GD. I follow a diet, try to exercice after each meal and take insuline. Uncontroled GD can cause baby to gain to much weigth, be born early, have difficulty managing his blood sugar after birth and other rare complications.

What kind of monitoring

They put you on a diet and exercise plan to control it and if that doesn't work I believe they give you medicine.
