Hi skky,

I am a volunteer, so I am not a medical professional.

My input is based on experience in caring for my son who has been living with type 1 for 8 years.

I honestly do not have an answer for you.  Your friend really needs to consult with her endocrinologist.

She is lucky to have a caring friend like you.

Please encourage her to talk to her physician.

So sorry that I could not be of more assistance.

Hi I am not a doctor and also recommend your friend speaks to their endocrondologist. But I do know there are several manufacturers of insulin not just Lily. Perhaps one of the other manufacturers are still making the animal insulins. I would definitely check it out. Some examples are Bristol- Myers Squibb, Novo Nordisk, and GlaxoSmithKline. You are a good friend and I am sure your support is appreciated. Carolyn
