Baby Diabetic

How in the world can one tell that their newborn or 12 month old baby is hypo or hyperglycemic? Do babies make a noise or when their glucose levels are high or low?

Hello!  I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes.  I'd look for the same physical symptoms as in others.  Here's an easy to understand diagram which shows the symptoms of hypo and hyperglycemia, and the symptoms are all non-verbal signals.

Since your child is under a year, have you looked into the test which may show a genetic mutation that caused the diabetes symptoms?  Here's information on it:

The therapy for this is much different and much easier than with typical type 1.  Ask your endocrinologist for more details and how to get the testing.  Your child may not have this mutation, but it is certainly worth checking into.

I love your username, by the way!
