Can I be an Electrician

Just wondering if there are any restrictions on becoming an Electrician if I have type 1 diabetes. How do you combat the fact that you are up against others going for the job and surely if they have to choose the right one  for the job, they are going to choose the one without diabetes less sick days etc etc.

No. The only restrictions are on dangerous jobs such as military, police, pilots.

The way you deal with that is by not telling them you have diabetes at the job interview! The American Disabilities Act protects people with diabetes. The only thing you are required to tell people is if you have a condition that "prevents you from doing the job". You don't.
