Chest discomfort & burning with low blood sugar

Diabetic 30+ years, female, non-smoker.  Since having quadruple bypass a few mos ago, I experience chest pressure and sometimes burning in my chest/upper abdomen and jaw pain when my blood sugar is 80 or lower.  Sometimes it happens if it 150 or higher too.  I've been cleared as far as cardiac.  I take Protonix to protect my stomach from the aspirin I have to take.  Does anyone else have this issue and what causes it? 80 is really not low blood sugar.

Auntino,
We are volunteers here and not medical professionals.  We all have a lot of experience with Type 1.  I haven't heard of the symptoms you've described, but I encourage you to give this same information to your endocrinologist, too.

Over time with diabetes, we do sometimes develop different symptoms of high or low blood sugar.  Since your surgery was just a few months ago, your body might still be healing and adjusting to new meds.  It's important tho', to make sure you medical team is aware of how you're feeling.

Perhaps other readers will have some experiences to share with you.

Good luck.
