Complete diagnosis of Diabetes

Hello,

Many different causes and conditions can be related to hyperglycemia, diabetes type2, Insulin resistance etc. Commonly, just few basic tests are done to diagnose the Diabetes due to various reasons. This may lead to incomplete evaulation of diabetes2. Can you tell which tests can be done to evaluate all possibilities and conditions related to causes of diabetes2 enabling to get right and best medication progam?

I am not a physical but a volunteer and the mom of a type one, and daughter of a type 2.  I would suggest you contact an endocrinologist that can better answer that question and diagnosis you with hyperglycemia 0or diabetes, which are their specialties.     If the first one you go to does not help, get a second opinion.

Our specialty here on this Forum is type ! diabetes, not type 2. Perhaps you should check out the American Diabetes Association at www.ada.org -- there is more emphasis on type 2 diabetes on that website and they may be able to better answer your very good question than we can.
