Hello!  I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes.  Cracks in toe nails are generally from dryness, and sometimes from damage to the uppermost layer of your nail.  One things I've seen suggested most often as treatment is Solar Oil, which will replace the moisture in your nail.  You can get those products at most nail salons, or online.  You can also get a specialized wrap to keep around your toe, which will help retain the moisture.  If you have thick toenails, make sure you clip them when they are moist, typically after a bath or shower.  That makes them more bendable and less breakable.  Good luck!
