Diabetics in non combat military roles

Recently I found a petition for diabetics to be able to serve in non combat military roles such as the army finance corps and the army medical service corps both with no combat role. So my question is do you guys think if the petition reaches its goal of 100,000 signatures will it change anything?

Here's the link to the petition

Also here is a link to a story about a diabetic in the army who was still allowed to deploy to Iraq.

Hi there!

I personally do not see a reason that diabetics should not be allowed to serve in the army in non-combat services. Some countries do actually allow individuals with diabetes in non-combat corps. It probably would just take another historical case with supported medical evidence to change the view and the rules.

Take care!
