Disetronic Pump Supplies

by 1eggy1, Apr 18, 2006 12:00AM
Does anyone know were I can buy pump supplies from for my H-TRON plus pump? My insurance will not cover supplies anymore so I am down to my last 3 infusion sites. I need to find people that are selling supplies so I can keep going with this pump. Please if anyone know of anybody that has supplies for sale please e-mail me at ***@****. Thank you

I see that insulin pumper posted a very good answer to your question, but I have a question for you.  Is your insurance company only dealing with certain pumps and not the one you have?  Are you willing to switch to a pump/supplies that they'll cover?  I'm just curious.
The following resources may help you in your quest for supplies.  Good luck to you!

Financial Assistance
The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association http://www.phrma.org or call 1-800-762-4636.

Medicine Program, http://www.medicineprogram.com/ or call  1-573-996-7300.

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney
Diseases (NIDDK) has a publication called "Financial Help for Diabetes Care,"
The Bureau of Primary Health Care and Hill-Burton Act which may provide low or no cost health or hospital care for a person with diabetes are also discussed.
You can view this publication on-line at:
http://www.niddk.nih.gov/health/diabetes/summary/finhelp/finhelp.htm, or
order copies from the National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse at
1-800-860-8747.
Diabetes-Meds is an advocate program that works with low-income patients on a case-by-case basis with every drug manufacturer to provide nearly every medication a patient requires for chronic illness. Diabetes-Meds, a service of ElderMeds, works with over 161 pharmaceutical companies and is not confined to people of any age. Every U.S. citizen is eligible, regardless of age or medication prescribed. The URL is

You can also buy meters and test strips at a deep discount on eBay in the area "Everything Else:Health & Beauty:Medical, Special Needs:Monitoring, Testing:Other Monitoring, Testing." The URL is

Every state in the nation has a health insurance program for infants, children, and teens.  To find out about state programs search the Insure Kids Now! Web site offered by the US Health & Human Services Department: http://www.insurekidsnow.gov/  (or call 877-KIDS-NOW).

Another option to investigate is Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), find listings at: http://www.hcfa.gov/init/children.ht .

I also wear an insulin pump, you might want to try talking with a representative from Diseontric about getting supplies for free or at a low cost.  Most Pump companies are willing to work with their patients.

I hope this helps.
