Does anyone have a comment about the Minimed 'Real Time' Paradigm pump

I currently use a Minimed Paradigm 512. I am considering upgrading to the Minimed Real Time Insulin Pump. I am concerned about the wireless transmitter that attaches to the glucose sensor. This seems to look so big and thick in the pics. that I have seen. Is it comfortable to wear? Are the glucose readings accurate? Would you recommend the upgrade? I would appreciate any comments and advice. Thanks so much!

Hi Wutz! I don't have any personal experience with the Minimed Real Time Pump but I am sure that if anyone out there does, they'll share their experience with you. You may also want to consider questioning your local JDRF chapter to see if they know anyone who can give you some answers. It is my experience locally that they are tight with the reps from these manufacturers as they like to sponsor JDRF events. The reps have all the information you are looking for and some of them are diabetics themselves so they can share their personal views as pump users with you. I'm currently using a minimed 715 paradigm, and love it! My sister works for Medtronics and has the NEW New Real Time system. The brand new glucose sensor is about the size of a nickel around, and is not as thick as the model shown in the pictures. I've see the real time unit in action, it still has some minor issues with exact glucose readings, but it's great watching the trends in real time, Which are showing glucose values very accurate, during my observation. I'm waiting about six months for insurance approval of the real time supplies, ( at least I hope it's only six months away), a few more minor corrections, then I'll own the Medtronics Paradigm Real time 722 unit!
