First I want to remind you that we aren't doctors, but are people who have lots of experience with type 1 diabetes. So you certainly shouldn't take my response to your question as medical fact, and ALWAYS if you have medical questions, you should call your own doctor. I think that in this age of internet-available medical websites, people can make real mistakes by writing some symptoms down and thinking that what the person writes as a response is a medical diagnosis. No person can diagnose without knowing more about the person's condition than a written paragraph, even if they ARE a doctor.

Anyway, on to your question...
Many college students eat a lot of salty pre-packaged foods, and this may be the root of your problem. If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't panic over one blood pressure test, for there is no telling whether the workout or the heavy dinner caused a one-time blood pressure rise. You might want to try checking your blood pressure more often to see if this is a pattern or a one-time thing.

It sounds as if your habits are very healthy as far as exercise is concerned. So if you find that your blood pressure is usually slightly elevated, you may want to cut back on salty snacks such as crackers and chips, and see if this makes a difference.

For some people, though, diet isn't enough, and some blood pressure meds may be in order. But I wouldn't worry about that until you see what your average blood pressure is. The blood sugar of 117 in the evening after a large buffet meal sounds pretty normal to me. One more thing: if your physical activity was enough to stimulate your body to produce some adrenalin, your blood pressure could have been caused by adrenalin.

So you probably should try a relaxed, RESTING blood pressure test instead of one after a very active evening and see how it is. It is wonderful that you care about your health enough to ask smart questions. Do try hard to keep a healthy diet even while in college, though. It is hard to do, but you will feel better and be healthier if you make the effort. We ARE what we eat, after all.  :o)
