I am a mom of a type one diabetic. i would suggest that you contact yourlocal department of socail services, they should know if your state has special programs for people that have the same needs as you.  i would also suggest you contact your local JDRF chapter (www.JDRF.ORG), they might have have some contacts for you.  I would also suggest that you contact minimed and see if they have any programs, that might help.

I hope this helps.

Mississippi has the "Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi" which helps folks out with issues like this when insurance companies won't pay for supplies, meds, etc. When we moved from Ala back to MS in May they gave my child 1 months supply of Lantus--they will also give $ if they do not have the supplies you need-you may want to check with the Diabetes Foundation of your state....

what kind of insurance do you have? usually you can get them to pay for it but it can be a big bureaucratic hassle.

I have Guardian Insurance and they have already told me even though my supplies are a prescription from my Doctor they are considered "major medical" and are not covered , is it worth fighting for that ?   it may be ?
