Infusion site problems

Infusion site problems

My 11-year old son started pump therapy two weeks ago.  He was very excited to start on the pump, but the site changes have been a nightmare.  After the first site change, which took five tries, my son is completely stressed out.  After two successful site changes, he is now refusing to do them and we have reverted back to shots.  I am so frustrated and blame myself as part of the problem, as I reacted poorly to the hour long struggles to change his site.  How can I sucessfully revisit trying to get my son back on his insulin pump.  We are devistated.   He is currently on the mini-med pump and using the quick set infusion sets.
