Is low blood sugar causing my anxiety or is anxiety causing my low blood sugar?

by JaysonThomas, Oct 14, 2006 12:00AM
I've been very sick off and on for a year know. I'm willing to try anything If anyone has any advice for me. I'm a 27 year old male. I started dropping weight about a year ago so I increased my calories up to about 4500 a day. I'm not over active but I was lifting weights for about a hour 4 days a week. After a couple of months my energy level started to drop. Started taking naps during the day and shortened my workouts to about 20 minutes. I started having problems dealing with stress at that point. If something stress me out as soon as I calmed down my blood sugar would crash.(30-45 blood sugar range)Many times it would put me on the floor barely able to talk or see but it would come back up with food in about 15 min. After having blood taken I was told there is nothing wrong with me. The only thing I was worried about was my fasting c-peptides being 10.3. I was told that's very high. My cortisol was very high as well. Sometimes 10 min. after I eat I start feeling weird. My vision starts getting blurry and I start to get disoriented. I don't know why stress or eating causes me to crash. My blood pressure has also dropped very low. I collapse a lot when standing up. My eyes also go bloodshot after a attack and I get double vision and sometimes shake. Any ideas I would love to hear them. Please help. I just want to get better. Thanks.

I am not a physician but the mom of a type on diabetic.  I would suggest that you get a second opinion.  I would also ask about seeing an endocrinologist to see if there is any thing wrong with your thyroid.

Sorry I could not be of more help
