Juvenile diabetes

my 2 yr old son goes through about 10 8oz bottles a day. He is constantly asking for a bottle. Diabetes runs in my family through his grandparents and my grandparents also. He completely wets through a diaper within an hr to and hr and a half. Is there any change that this could be a early sign of diabetes or not?

Hi,

the amount of fluids he is drinking is excessive.  Definitely could be a sign of diabetes, or it could be something else.  I think you need to take your son to his dr for a checkup including a discussion of this concern.

If you have a bs monitor at home, you could also try testing his fasting blood sugar and 2 hours after meals to see if his results are higher than normal.
