Microalbunin Test Very High with Large amount of Blood in the Urine

by erarmstrng, Sep 13, 2007 12:00AM
I just recieved my lab work and it shows that my Microalbunin results as 2604.0 and my Microalb / Creat is 2436 with Microalbumin erroneously resulted as: 1784.4 and I have large amount of blood in the urine and my protein is 300 - 600, but my bun,k and creatine in my blood levels are all excellent. One of my doctors does not know what to say, but thought that I might have Lupus or cancer, but she is stumped. If you have any assistance, it would be helpful, as my test scores keep going up every month, but no one is doing anything about them.

Being 'stumped' is not a good enough answer. You have a right to have your test results taken seriously, and you should push your 'stumped' doctor to get to the bottom of it, by referring you to specialists or conducting further tests or doing whatever needs doing. Pay attention to your body and make sure to report any physical symptoms you might have. If you have none, that's a clue, too.

Be your own best advocate and insist on getting to the bottom of this. Good luck, and stay positive!

I suggest that you find another doctor.  Something is wrong when they don't do anything about a real problem.  Take it from me, we have been to 4 different specialists until we found one that will listen.  There are plenty of doctors in the country to not be taken seriously.  If your sugar stays in this range much longer, you will end up in the hospital in DKA and that in itself is serious.  My daughter is a hard case diabetic and it seems when one is so different from the norm that doctors raise their hands and say, "I don't know".  That is why we travel 6 hours one way every 3 months to see our doctor, because she cares and wants to help.  I hope you find one that fits your needs.  I would start looking now. Good luck and God bless!
