Minimed Paradigm 722 Supplies

by Kelly81, Dec 11, 2007 12:00AM
Hey, I'm new to this site and hope that I'm posting my question in the right section. I'm 26 and have had diabetes for a little over a year now. I was lucky enough to have gotten a Minimed Paradigm 722 pump for free only after I got pregnant and got on Medicaid. It was a huge help. When i got pregnant with my son i ended up in the hospital with sugar readings over 600 and had DKA. Only then was it that i found out i was pregnant and in dire need to lower my uncontrolled sugar. So I got the pump for free, THANK GOD, lowered my sugars to more reasonable numbers, and have been lucky enough to receive all supplies and insulin at no charge. Now that my son was born I will no longer have medicaid as of the end of this month, December. So finally getting to my question, can anyone direct me to where I can get supplies at a low cost? I have no insurance and desperatley need supplies. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could please point me in the right direction!

I would suggest going to the JDRF website at www.jdrf.org  On the site you will be able to click on odst to help you find support in your area.  There are also clinical trials going on that maybe you can join and get free supplies.  I think if you go to the website you can find out information about how to get supplies or get insurance to help you get supplies at costs you can handle.

Hi Kelly,
I have recently switched pumps and I have some supplies left over that I'd be willing to sell you - 8 boxes (80) 3 mL reservoirs and 8 boxes (80) Quick-set infusion sets with 6mm cannula and 43" tubing.  If you're still looking for supplies let me know what your budget is (***@****) and we can go from there.
Cheers,
DQ

Hi Kelly!  I have a MiniMed 722 and have a ton of supplies.  I get them from a mail-order company and over the past 2 years they have sent way too many.  I need to go look and see exactly how many of each thing I have, but the supplies include infusion sets, test strips for the BD Logic meter, an extra meter, LOTS of Accu Chek lancets {the ones that are contained in a cartridge}, and I am sure some other stuff.  You can email me at ***@**** and I will send you a complete list of items and prices {reasonable, I promise!}  Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Sarah... what is the name of that mail order company?  I'm just at the beginning stages of getting my pump but I will need a reasonable outlet to purchase my supplies.

Thanks,
Barbara
