Need discounted diabetes meds

by thunni, Aug 16, 2007 12:00AM
Does anyone know how to get assistance to pay for diabetes medication.  My friend has a son that has mental illness.  Her insurance has minimal coverage.  She needs assistance for his care as well as support.  She is a hard working single parent and any suggestions will be helpful.  She makes too much money for help, but not enough money to pay for all of the health issues.

Thanks

Hello.  I would suggest you contact JDRF's Online support team.  They have the knowledge about the resources available, and can work with you and your friend to get help.  Here's the link:

Good luck.

I was looking through the archives on this forum, because I remembered a similar question answered previously.  One volunteer suggested trying to see if your friend qualifies for Medicaid or if there is a state funded program to help pay for diabetic supplies.
