Hi I'm Arvin.I'm currently 26 year old.I have Juvenile Type 1 diab.I take Mixtard Insulin before Breakfast and befor dinner round abt 18 /20 units.
My Problem is that few days back I took 20 units in the night...but in the morning suddenly i was unable to woke up.every member in my family tried to woke me....but i was unable to react or speak,though i was concious os what was happening around me...but was unable to answer any Question...After reaching the medical and having a blood sugar test ,we came to know that the sugar level goes pretty down...i.e 56...

But what my Problem is that "what happened to me why i was unable to speak or react though i wanted to answer back"??

Please help me.

Hi, Arvin. We become extremely disoriented when we are hypoglycemic. If you were 56 by the time you reached the doctor chances are you were much lower before. Mixed insulins are a very outdated treatment. I would see an endo and get on a proper regimen of basal/bolus insulin, using an Insulin:Carb ratio for meal bolus dosing. Get the book Using Insulin by John Walsh.
