Night sweats - Type 1 diabetes

by Mike2154, Dec 20, 2008 10:47AM
I've woke up profusely sweating.  Now I've noticed what appears to be bleaching of the sheets especially where my shoulders and head lay.  Prior to this, I noticed discoloration of the sheets over time where my body contacted the sheets (appeared dark).  What's going on?  Thanks.

It sounds like the discoloration of the sheets is simply from the salt in your sweat staying in the sheets after the mositure has evaporated.  The sweating can be produced by either high or low blood sugars.  Spend a few nights setting alarms to wake you up during the night and test your sugars, if they are fluctuating into high or low numbers adjust your long acting insulin accordingly.
