Pacemaker and Semper Fi

Can a person who had a pacemaker still join the Marines? I'm supposed to be getting it taken out in 6 years and I'm currently 18 years old, and I was wondering that if after awhile of it getting it taken out, i can still join with a waiver perhaps? Thanks for any feedback.

Hi there!

This would depend on the indication for which the pacemaker was put and the present physical condition. You could try discussing the situation in detail with your treating physician.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
