From what people I know who have had carpal tunnel syndrome say, once the problem has happened, it is common for some pain to remain. Is he still using the computer? He may still be irritating the joints even if the nerves have been relieved of pressure. I would recommend that he go back to his doctor and discuss whether further treatment is necessary. I do think that we type 1 diabetics are more prone to connective tissue inflammations than other people, and this could be a sign that some tendons are being strained or some other issue is happening.
