Problems with Medtronic Supplies and Customer Service

I have been experiencing alot of problems with Quick-Set Paradigm Sets with lot # 9200549 and/or with reservoirs lot # H7565318 and have not had any luck in having Medtronic resolve these issues. When you call their help line you are on hold anywhere from a half hour to an hour and a half.  They acknowledge this as a problem and that they have been trying to hire people since July 2009 (it is Feb. 2010 now) and have not been able to get enough people trained to handle the thousands of calls they receive because of clogged tubing and defective reservoirs.  They told me that they are made in Puerto Rico and that the quality standards there have been an issue and that they are trying to fix these.  Any one else having issues with Medtronic?  What are other insulin pumps that people are happy with.  I guess I should just find a better company to do business with huh?!  Let me know...

My teen DS has used Medtronic pumps for 8 years.  No probs and great customer service.  He started out with the Quick-Sets but did not like the serter or how it felt at the site anytime he needed to disconnect.  He switched to the Sof-sets and loves them -- both the serter and the infusion set itself.  Have you thought about trying the Sof-sets?  If you call MM or your pump trainer (if you had one) they can probably give you a few to try.
