Pump Problem / Animus Info Request

Could anyone please p.m. me the e-mail address for someone very senior at Animas, e.g. Teri Lawver the general manager? I am having a problem obtaining a new replacement pump.

I need a new insulin pump: my Deltec Cozmo is out of warranty and Smith's medical (aka Deltec) have stopped making new pumps. Also, the buttons on my Cozmo are beginning to play up. I also swim and need a waterproof pump, and Animas are the only show in town that meets my needs. My doctor and my insurance company have both approved a new pump; however, there's a problem:

I've been using mmol/l units all my life, and I need a mmol/l pump for delivery through my insurance in the U.S. but the people I've been talking to at Animas keep stonewalling me. First they told me that the FDA forbade them from supplying a mmol/l pump in the U.S. (even though Animas makes mmol/l pumps and sells them in Canada and Europe). So I contacted the FDA and they told me, in writing, that they had never forbidden the supply of mmol/l pumps in the U.S., and that they actually agreed, again in writing, that as someone who has been using mmol/l units for over forty years, I should continue to use this system.

Great, I thought. I'll call my contact at Animas with this information from the FDA and they'll supply me with a pump, but no. I was told that my information would be passed up the chain, but I've heard nothing back. I even contacted Animas in Canada to see if they could supply me with a mmol/l pump, and having promised they would get back to me, they also have failed to follow through. I've sent several e-mails and made several phone calls.

I figure if someone with a brain at a very senior level of Animas management looked at this, they'd probably sort it out in five minutes and sell me the pump that I need, but I don't know how to get in touch with such a person, and I'm guessing that the people I get through to on the phone and by e-mail are not passing my request up the line. I even offered to sign a waiver to protect them legally if they are worried about some kind of legal ramification, although I think selling me a mg/dl pump is much more likely to get me into trouble, and nobody ever said that using any insulin pump was without risk, and they seem to be alright with that.

I don't know Teri Lawver, but I did a quick search online and she seems to be very highly regarded, and she also seems to be involved with doing a lot of good in the community. I understand that normally a G.M. would not get involved in something like this, but I also think that she would be disturbed if she heard how her employees in U.S. and in Canada are treating me. If someone can either get her to read this and get in touch with me, or if you can send me her e-mail by private message (i.e. not over this forum), I would be most grateful.

Thanks!
