TYPE ONE young diabetic retinopathy Please Help

I have had type one diabetes since I was four.  I am now 27 and recently they discovered I have diabetic retinopathy.  They have been doing scatted laser surgery on my eyes which is incredibly painful.  I guess I just need to hear from others that may have been in the same place.  I have celiac which got diagnosed at age 16, and I also have gastroparesis.  I'm trying to live life fully and normally I am a really positive person, but noone in my life seems to understand emotionally what I am going through.  My Dr gave me a 50/50 chance of going blind in the next two years.  I work full time to keep my insurance and I am currently attempting to get my Masters in social work. I have been on the pump since I was sixteen which is over 12 years now.  I check my bs regularly and I used to work at Clara Barton Camp for girls living with diabetes... I loved it but I cannot afford to go away and work at camp anymore.  I guess I am just looking for others to relate or who can understand where I am in my life.  I am not negative.. but I feel that I am very realistic about the future....humalog only came out when I was 16...untill then NPH and R and I was a child who naturally rebelled and snuck candy in..... My email is ***@**** and I really would love to hear from others.....Thank you for reading this...hope to hear from you soon!!

your email did not show up but if u send PM private messages u should be able to do that.
u left out ALL THE IMPORTANT INFO;
let me give u an example; my wife is a INSULIN DEPENDENT BRITTLE DIABETIC of 43 years and has had DOZENS of laser surgeries, is LEGALLY blind but can see enough with help to live comfortably as far as eye site
she is 5'6" and weighs 7 lbs less today than when we got together 21 yrs ago 113 lbs now
she has had life threatening insulin reactions in the THOUSANDS of times

so what did u leave out that I think is soooo important;
this; HEIGHT/WEIGHT/
everything u ate or drank in the last 3 weeks (don't leave anything out)

so if u think u started out tuff with less medical knowledge all of 25 yrs ago, IMAGINE how much more so 43 years ago

u do do what is asked and u will find lots of free help at least from me and I have learned a few good things to help BUT U HAVE TO DO ALL THAT IS NECESSARY because the sicker one is the more effort they need to put into not getting worse.

good luck to u and hope to hear back
