Type 1 get ripped??

I'm 15 years old and have type 1 diabetes and of course as most know the effect is being very skinny and sometimes extremely lean. Well, Ive been thinking of doing football, tackle as a Running-back, and to be decent i need a good amount of strength to break free from defenders. So, my question is how can i get a little bit more bulky and show a little more definition in my muscles a type 1 diabetic? i know i cant do the diets or the hyper protein crap and i already workout a lot and do karate to its just that I'm almost underweight for my age and i lack the muscle. As i stated before...

also as anothersubquestion ive beeen having trouble finding something pack full of protein not to much just enough for what is recommended to prevent muscle loss (A.K.A 1 gram of protein = 1 body mass
