What Kind of Diet?

I have been diagnosed as being pre-diabetic, and  have been advised to lose weight.  I also have intestinal adhesions from radiation treatments for cancer four years ago.  These adhesions cause periodic attacks of stomach pain, vominting, and diarrhea.  For the former, I have been advised to eat high fiber, low carb foods.  And for the latter, I have been advised that white carbs - white bread, pasta, rice, etc. - should be my new best friends.  So, how do I lose weight, reduce my blood sugar, and alleviate the attacks caused by the adhesions?  Any ideas?

I think you need to see a dietician.  You have quite a lot to deal with. I think someone with an extensive amount of knowledge about food and nutrition will be able to help you better than myself.  I can see your dilemma because I try to avoid white carbs as much as possible.  I am a Type 1 diabetic for 27 years.
I do think you should try and add some more exercise to your routine.  I take walks often and do strength exercises at my home.  My point is you don't have to join a gym to get your heart rate up.  Find activities you like that get you moving.
