What do I have?

by randomx, Oct 26, 2007 12:00AM
I am 25 years old. I have had a MRI to see if anything is wrong with my head but i am fine, i had blood work to see if I have diabetes and i do not. But this is the problem- it runs in my family highly. I eat good. But when I dont eat by a certain hour I get really dizzy and now i am coping with it. When I drive it is the worst, my upper body gets numb and i feel like i cant move much. But i still get by. I am on no meds, I take vitamins regular and exercise I weigh 140 and i am 5"7. Its just that every day I get dizzy even if i sit down or stand up but driving is the worst. I also feel like I have breathing problems sometimes but i dont have asthma. Sounds like I am crazy but i am not, i was not like this before and dont know why this has been going on since January of this year. I sleep fine. Is this a sign to diabetes? Help, Almost every day I feel like I am going to just FALL OVER but i dont! I been to the docs and he cant figure it out! :/

I think you can safely rule out diabetes for now if you have had the bloodwork and the doctor said it wasn't.  If diabetes does run in your family it is good to get a yearly check of your blood sugar when you visit the doctor because Type II diabetes can be hereditary and the right environment for the disease is present.   But you seem like you are taking good care of yourself by watching what you are eating and exercising, two very good things to do to prevent Type II diabetes from developing.
I have seen many questions on this site pertaining to your symptoms and it is always suggested to look into hypoglycemia.  Hypolglycemia is not diabetes, but when your blood sugar goes low there are symptoms of a low blood sugar reaction, like with a diabetic.  If you search the archives of this site there are many questions and answers about hypoglycemia by volunteers much more knowledgeable than myself about hypoglycemia.
