Hello Dennis1. I usually buy from drugstore.com. They have been very helpful and have most things I need in stock. They have metformin starting at $39.99 for 60 tablets.
Make sure you order from a well established website. You don't want to risk getting second rate or even worse, the wrong drugs.

i looked it up at google.com. They list a place that sells generics at $0.29 a dose. www.qualitygenerics.com. Check it out. Hope it is what you are looking for.
