cataract surgery

had cataract removed from my left eye at 57 years old. surgery seemed to go fine except 1 month have retinal edema should I worry.

I am assuming you are diabetic?  How do you know you have retinal edema?  When I looked up on-line it mentioned Diabetic macular edema, which I think is the same thing.  Have you been to your eye doctor?  I hope you have been back for a follow up visit--because with diabetics the healing process can be a bit longer .  I think you need to make sure you are talking to your endocrinologist and your eye doctor who will be able to give you more expert and sound advice than I would.  I am a type 1 diabetic for 27 years, but no retina problems.
