Hello.  I started having a lot of different symptoms when I was 6.  The doctors that I was going to kept telling my parents that I had tapeworms!!!  They had no idea.  My parents then took me to another doctor in a bigger city and when he came in the room, he got close to me and said he could smell sweetness on my breath.  He made my parents take me to the emergency room right away!!  Luckily he knew exactly what the breath smell was from.  You should definitely get your granddaughter checked for diabetes.  Better safe than sorry!!
