hives and diabetes

by desa33, Sep 30, 2007 12:00AM
My 3 year old has been having outbreaks in hives over the past week.  He hs also been urinating a lot, about 5-6 times in an hour and no appetite (which has been over the last 3 months)  Could this be diabetes?  Are the hives a symptom of diabetes?

No, hives are not a typical symptom of diabetes. But even so, he needs to be seen by a doctor -- hives, loss of appetite, and thirst causing him to drink a lot and urinate a lot are signs that something is wrong. And only a doctor can run appropriate tests to find out the cause. I do wish him the very best.
