Is it possible for a person or child to display intermittant signs of hyperglycemia? My sever year old has always been sensative to sugar but when she is feeling good her sugar is normalNormal saline flush but at other times she is nauseated and tired. Help!!
You didn't mention in your question if your daughter has type 1 diabetes. If she has not been diagnosed with diabetes, I would recommend making an appointment sooner than later. Just to be on the safeSafe driving for teens Safe sex side. Intermitten hyperglycemia can be caused by many things. It can also be symptoms of type 1 diabetes. If she does not have diabetes, I would talk to her doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment.
Please keep in touch and let us know how your daughter is.
None of us here is a physician, so we'll all encourage you to work with her pediatrician and/or a pediatric endocrinologist. I hope you'll write again with a bit more info on your daughter's health status so we can offer more suggestions specific to your situation.
If she is a known Type 1 diabetic, then it's great her blood sugar is normal most of the time. If a diabetic is nauseaus when her blood sugar is high, it often is a signal that toxins called ketones are building up. It's important to both bring down the blood sugar and also to drink LOTS of water to help flush those toxins from the blood & kidneys.
