My son diagnosed as juvenile diabetes 3 day back he is 11 yrs old admitted with DKA now BS is under control can we switch on Lantus whats its advantage to NPH 70/30

thanks for the query,

Yes if DKA and its cause is well controlled you can always plan Lantus maintenance. Advantage being it has no peak action with it, therefore chances of getting HYPOGLYCEMIC ( LOW BLOOD SUGAR STAE ) is less.
