by pem2005, Mar 09, 2006 12:00AM
Hi everybody,
I am a housewife who is trying to conceive through IVF. I had  a failed IVF and am going for the next cycle next month..
I have been lately getting tired so easily. And my eyes would turn red and heavy when i go out. i cant hold out for more than an hour before my eyes turn red and i start yawning. I am often getting headaches when i get up in the morning. Does it sound like i have Diabetes?
thanks in advance

The symptoms that you describe don't necessarily indicate diabetes in and of themselves.  If you were also complaining of excessive thirst and urination and loss of weight and muscle aches; the combination of symptoms might suggest that you get tested for diabetes.  There may be other causes for your tiredness and headaches related to the IVF meds and I would talk with your doctor about this.  Additionally, going through IVF can be a very tiring and stressful process in and of itself, so don't be too hard on yourself if you do tire easily.  I wish you much luck and success in this next round of IVF.

I forgot to mention another symptom :-) ... i have severe pain on my foot when i get up in the morning which lasts for abt a couple of hours..
I am not sure if all the symptoms are related at all..
Thank you in advance..

I am a long-time type 1 diabetic. I ALWAYS yawn when my glucose levels are dropping too low. Muscle cramps can happen when low, also. It may not hurt to have a glucose tolerance test, which might rule out either diabetes or hypoglycemia.
