shaking and nausia

My daughter has episodes of nausia,sweating, can not stay awake, no energy.  the sweating is more like she can not get cool and so she just feels hot.  she feels like this for a period of maybe a couple of days.  she doesn't always have these episodes, but when she does she just does not feel well and at times also feels shaky.  I was just wondering if you had any idea what this might be.  Thanks

You don't say what's going on with her blood sugar when this happens-- is it high? Low? Unstable? Or is it the same as usual? That might explain some of it. Or perhaps there's a hormonal influence-- how old is she? Could these spells be related to her period?

I hate to put it back on you, but there are many unanswered questions. I'm just the mom of a teenage (girl) diabetic, not a doc, so I'm just asking simple questions. I know my daughter gets shaky and sweaty when she gets low, but it goes away once her sugar stablizes.

One thought is to have her thyroid checked. It is pretty common, from what I understand, for diabetics to develop issues with their thyroid, and that can lead to fatigue and feeling crummy. It's certainly worth checking-- and it usually is pretty treatable, if that's the issue.
