steroids

by bob1234, Apr 08, 2004 12:00AM
I am a type 1 diabetic for 2 yrs now
age 28
perfect control more or less with Hb1ac of 6.0
am wanting to know the likely result of a term of anabolic steriod use for approx 8 weeks
As I understand it, whilst the steroids are in your system, the effficacity of the insulin may be reduced for the short term (whilst you are on the steroid, in this care sustanon and nandrolone decanotate.)
My question is when the steroid cycle stops, will the insulin reqiurement remain as it was prior and might this very minor steroid use cause the pancreas more problems? and hence a larger insulin requirement after you return to normal.

Kind regards,
I am assuming that this question will be answered by a doctorm
