switching from injections to a pump

hello
i have been a type 1 diabetic for 4 years now and my last hba1c was about 7.2 eventhough i am an athlete. i am an 18 year old hockeyplayer whos going to switch to a pump soon, in approximetly one month. i have alot of questions!
do you have have less hypos with the pump?
should i keep the pump connected while playing hockey? should i start hockey games with 100mg/dl or alittle bit elevated( because with injections i go in with about 180 to 240 ?
so if the pump gets disconnected do bg levels rise right away? after games do i have to cut down the amount of bolus which is given me per hour?
im really sorry that i have so many questions but its pretty important for me because i want to play on a proffesional level next year or go to the states so every ounce of information would be largley appreciated!!!
