For what ever reason:
For dry mouth I am using grocery/pharmacy Biotene toothpaste and mouth rinse and it is working wonders , filled with enzymes to lube you during the night. It is safe to swallow, follow the instructions.
Hello wad,
While it is the case that high blood sugar can be a cause of a dry mouth, it is not the only possible cause. Typical symptoms of diabetes include constant thirst, urination, hunger, exhaustion, vision changes, significant weight loss.
Especially because you also experience mouth sores, in your situation, I would tell my doctor about this symptom as well as any patterns you may have noticed. Times of year? Related to specific foods? Activities? Stresses?
If you don't have a physician or a clinic that you can go to, do check in your local area for a hospital that offers "dial a nurse" services. Those facilities allow a person to call and speak to a registered nurse, who will "triage" your symptoms and make recommendations for next steps (see a doctor ASAP, use some over the counter remedy, etc.)
I hope this info has been helpful. I'm not a physician (none of us here is) and that's why I'm recommending that you contact a physician or at least a nurse to begin the process of diagnosing what's going on. From your msg, it seems that the symptoms are annoying enough and have gone on long enough for you to be ready for relief! Do let us know what you find out and how you are feeling.
